Harold J. Crosby Maine Band Camp 2026
Dexter, Maine
September 18, 19 and 20, 2026
For one weekend in the Fall, the Harold J. Crosby Band Camp hosts a variety of instrumental musicians from Maine and other parts of the world, near and far, who gather in Dexter, Maine, to ambitiously rehearse and proudly perform a free concert for the public! The camp features original music by Maine composers and arrangers.
Guest conductor this year, Dr. James Chesebrough, received his Bachelor of Music Education degree from Heidelberg College in Tiffin, Ohio, and his subsequent degree in conducting from the University of Connecticut. He served as the assistant conductor of the University of Connecticut Wind Ensemble, and for 26 years, Dr. Chesebrough was a band director in public schools in Ohio and New Hampshire. As a trombonist, he has performed internationally and with numerous big bands throughout New England. For this years solo performance, Dr. Chesebrough will perform Romance by C.W. Bennet, circa 1890.
Housing is available through local B&Bs, cabins, motel rooms available in the area towns or with band and community members as local hosts by special arrangement. All meals are included. There are no registration costs for band members. Your donations to help defray the event's costs of music distribution, facility and food are appreciated.
