Personal message from Andrew Friedrichs

Andrew Friedrichs is a trombonist and composer based in Colorado Springs, CO. He has played with a variety of ensembles including Colorado Symphony, Colorado Springs Philharmonic, Boulder Philharmonic, US Air Force Academy Band, Florida Grand Opera, and Palm Beach Symphony. He has seen success in the world of trombone auditions, having been named the winner for the U.S. Army “Pershing’s Own” Ceremonial Band, the U.S. Air Force "Heritage of America" Band, and a semi-finalist for the Virginia Symphony Orchestra. A winner of the Frost Concerto Competition, Andrew performed Paul Creston’s “Fantasy for Trombone and Orchestra” with the Frost Symphony Orchestra. Andrew holds a BM from Eastman School of Music and both and MM and a DMA from the University of Miami Frost School of Music. He is also an active arranger, conductor, producer, and jazz pianist.

Günther Fiala, from Pottenstein, Austria for “The Mysterious House”
A thematic composition that challenges the string orchestra to

Personal Message from Günther Fiala

Günther Fiala founded his own youth musical theatre troop in his hometown Pottenstein (Austria), which he conducted as the artistic director from 1996 to 2011. He wrote multiple musical theatre shows for children, teenagers and adults. From 2003 to 2016 Günther studied Music Education at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna (singing with Brigitte Stradiot, piano with Michael Lipp and Helmuth Luksch, music theory with Alfred Halbartschlager, composition with Wolfram Wagner) and German at the University of Vienna. From 2001 to 2011 Günther studied violoncello with Ruth Ferlic and Gudula Urban. He took private acting lessons with Martina Noetzel from 2004 to 2007. Günther holds a BSc. (Bachelor of Science in Health Studies) in Speech Therapy from the Fachhochschule Wiener Neustadt (Austria). Having performed at multiple venues at different events, Günther is a singer, choir leader and pianist. He is a member of the Austrian Composers‘ Society, the Composers' Society of Lower Austria and the German Musical Academy.
