New Horizons International Music Association (NHIMA) is pleased to present a free one-hour presentation with Audiologist Marshall Chasin, "A toolbox of hearing loss prevention strategies for musicians." Marshall has been the Director of Research at the Musicians’ Clinics of Canada since the mid-1980s and has presented nationally and internationally on hearing loss prevention in musicians, and fitting hearing aids on musicians. Marshall has written extensively, and has written or edited eight books - three of which are on musicians and the prevention of hearing loss. He has received a whole bunch of awards over the years, including one from the Audiology Foundation of America; recipient of the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal; and another from the Canadian Academy of Audiology for bravery in fighting witches and other neat stuff. Marshall got his doctorate of audiology (AuD) in 2003. After almost 40 years in the field, Marshall knows a bit about audiology and a bit about music, and how the two disciplines are interrelated.
This will be a virtual event through Zoom. While the event is free, we do require registration. Register for webinar with Marshall Chasin
